Earth Day Goodness: A Candle Experiment by Sister Eden

Last season, I met a neighbor at Fenton Street Market that also has an awesome blog called Sister Eden. Lori bought a few soy candles from me as she's on a mission to live a more eco-friendly and responsible lifestyle. Recently, she contacted me about doing an experiment- pitting my candles up against some paraffin wax candles and beeswax candles to test the burn time, proving that these alternative candle options would not just be eco-friendly but practical- they last longer than those paraffin wax death traps. Happy Earth Day!

After a great show at the Eco Depot at Union Market yesterday, I remembered how sustainability has so far to go. It's only so much to achieve sustainability on an environmental level. We've also got to achieve it on social and economic levels, as outlined in the video below - The Story of Stuff. It's all about connecting makers to the market and not places to a seller and then to a market like with big corporations. I feel really blessed that I've been able to make it this far with my business backed by all of your support and hope that communities everywhere can be sustainably empowered with their inherent skills.
