Since Boxing Day, my couch has been my best friend. I have laid around, read books, cuddled my dog, gotten super into wedding planning, cleaned my house and done nothing but whatever fun thing crossed my mind for the past two weeks, and let me tell you - it was wonderful! All good things must come to an end though, and now that the glorious snow has all melted and the first Monday of 2014 has finally hit, I'm ready to dive back into work. Taking a few weeks off gave me some time to reflect on my work and find what I want to do this coming year. So here's what you can expect in 2014:
+ a new, experimental product line that I'm super excited about
+ a more solid brand focusing on whimsical, cozy home goods + everyday luxuries
+ a solid market schedule that will take me across the DC area every month
+ less market-only goods. I'll be bringing those vintage container candles and greeting cards to my Etsy shop soon!
+ commitment to a brand new project - Chocolate City Creatives - devoted to connecting and enhancing the creative scene of DC
+ better long-term planning for the season which will result in actual days off for me this year. I cannot stress how important this is, coming out of a two-week no work period. I need Amina days!
+ & my last goal is to keep my work in my studio this year. Now that I can see my kitchen table, I can't go back. It's lovely. <3
So thanks to all for a great 2013 and a great 2014 so far! I've already finished a book, hit 250 Etsy sales and made definite plans to leave the house this January, so I'm pretty happy. :) To all, have a great and memorable year!
